Instrument & Control Department

Comprehensive design, installation, testing, and maintenance of industrial control systems

Department Overview

The Instrument and Control Department specializes in the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems across various industrial processes. We ensure precise measurement and control of critical parameters including temperature, pressure, flow, and level, while integrating seamlessly with other engineering disciplines to optimize operational efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Our expertise spans from initial system design to final commissioning, with strict adherence to international standards and safety regulations for manufacturing plants, oil and gas installations, and power generation facilities.

Scope of Work

1

Design and Specification

  • System Design: Develop overall design including instrument layout, control panels, and wiring
  • Selection of Instruments: Choose appropriate sensors, transmitters, controllers, and actuators based on process requirements
  • Control Philosophy: Define control strategies (PID control, feedforward control) for system implementation
2

Installation

  • Physical Installation: Oversee installation of instruments and control systems with proper placement and alignment
  • Wiring and Cabling: Install electrical wiring and cabling for power supply and signal transmission
  • System Integration: Ensure integration with safety systems, SCADA, and DCS
3

Programming and Configuration

  • Control System Programming: Write and configure software for PLCs and DCS (ladder logic, structured text)
  • HMI Development: Create Human-Machine Interface screens for operator monitoring and control
  • Database Configuration: Set up data logging and retrieval systems for analysis and reporting
4

Testing and Commissioning

  • Functional Testing: Conduct tests to ensure instruments operate correctly and meet specifications
  • Loop Testing: Perform loop checks to verify entire control loop functionality
  • System Integration Testing: Test integration with other systems for seamless operation
5

Documentation

  • Detailed Documentation: Create instrument specifications, wiring diagrams, control logic diagrams, and operating procedures
  • As-Built Drawings: Update drawings to reflect changes made during installation and commissioning
6

Maintenance and Support

  • Routine Maintenance: Establish maintenance schedules for regular inspection and calibration
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues in instrumentation or control systems
  • Upgrades and Modifications: Implement system upgrades to improve performance or comply with new regulations
7

Compliance and Safety

  • Standards Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISA, IEC) and safety regulations (ATEX for hazardous areas)
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards in control systems
8

Training

  • Operator Training: Train operators on effective and safe use of control systems
  • Technical Training: Provide technical training for maintenance personnel on troubleshooting and maintenance
