Department Overview
The Mechanical Department is responsible for the end-to-end execution of static equipment for petrochemical, refinery, and oil & gas projects — covering design, engineering, fabrication, inspection, and testing — in full compliance with international codes and standards (ASME, API, TEMA, etc.).
The scope spans from initial data receipt to final delivery, commissioning support, and as-built documentation.
Scope of Work
Input Data Review & Specification Development
- Review Process Data Sheets (PDS), PFDs, P&IDs, and client specifications
- Develop or update Mechanical Design & Fabrication SpecificationsDesign Code & Edition (ASME BPVC Sec. VIII Div.1/2)Design Conditions (MAWP, MAWV, Design Temp)Material Specifications (ASME SA Grades)
- Prepare Equipment List and Mechanical Datasheets for all static equipment
Equipment Classification & Type Identification
Identify and categorize static equipment types including:
Mechanical Design & Calculations
Perform detailed mechanical design and code-compliant calculations:
Pressure Vessels & Towers:
- Shell & Head Thickness (UG-27, UG-32)
- Nozzle Reinforcement (UG-36 to UG-45)
- Flange Rating (ASME B16.5/47)
Heat Exchangers:
- Shell/Channel Thickness, Tube Sheet
- Baffle Design, Nozzle Loads
- Expansion Joint Requirement
Software Used: PV Elite, TANK, COMPRESS, Mathcad, Auto PIPE Vessel
