Department Overview

The Process Engineering Department is responsible for the development, analysis, and optimization of process designs throughout all phases of EPC projects. We play a key role in defining process configurations, ensuring safety, operability, efficiency, and compliance with international standards and Client requirements.

Our expertise spans from initial conceptual design to detailed engineering, providing comprehensive process solutions for oil, gas, petrochemical, and industrial facilities.

Core Responsibilities

Process Design & Development

  • Preparation and development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
  • Development of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Heat and Material Balance (H&MB) calculations
  • Process descriptions for oil, gas, petrochemical, and industrial facilities

Simulation & Hydraulic Analysis

  • Steady-state and dynamic process simulations using industry-standard software
  • Validation of design assumptions and optimization of operating conditions
  • Support for equipment sizing, line sizing, and relief system design

Equipment & Package Engineering Support

  • Process sizing, selection, and datasheet preparation for static and rotating equipment
  • Engineering support for packages and process units
  • Close coordination with vendors for technical evaluation and data review

Process Safety & Studies

  • Participation in and leadership of HAZID (Hazard Identification) studies
  • Conducting HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) reviews
  • Operability reviews to ensure safe and reliable plant operation
  • Compliance with applicable codes and standards for process safety

Utility & Offsite Systems Design

  • Design and integration of process utility systems
    Steam systems
    Fuel gas systems
    Cooling water systems
    Compressed air systems
    Nitrogen systems
  • Design of offsite facilities integration with main process units

Interdisciplinary Coordination

  • Close collaboration with piping, instrumentation, and electrical disciplines
  • Coordination with civil and layout engineering teams
  • Ensuring consistency between process documents and detailed engineering deliverables

Engineering Documentation

  • Preparation and verification of process specifications
  • Development of process philosophies and operating manuals
  • Preparation of control narratives and process descriptions
  • Creation of equipment and line lists
  • Technical inputs required for procurement and construction phases
